"In this exciting, informative workshop, I will show you how to paint portraits in watercolour full of colour with an impressionistic feel. Suitable for all abilities, I will share how to portray feelings and emotions in your work making it unique. There will be a mixture of ongoing demonstrating and one-to-one attention, thereby enabling everyone to work to the best of their ability. You will be encouraged to develop your own style, to learn how to paint with Instinct alongside technique, to simplify drawings prior to painting to enable a looser style, to paint with colour that deviates away from the norm. Most of all, you'll have fun and come away inspired to paint more!
My aim is to teach you:
To see colour in shapes and form
To play and experiment
Be creativite with colour
There will be demonstrations encouraging you to have confidence and feel inspired, to give you the creative tools to accomplish painting with confidence.
I have a reference library of photos, for you to use. However, if you wish to paint from your own, you are more than welcome to bring it along. If using your own photos they need to be clear providing good detail.
If time allows, we may diversify into wildlife painting along with the use of ink, if this interests you.
A week in the delightful Bandouille at this workshop will open your eyes to the creativity and feeling possible in your painting. It is both a place and a week not to be missed!
Tutoring Description :
"Most subjects inspire me, but over the past few years I have developed a real passion for portraits, especially those of children. Most people who know me know of my love for both animals and Africa, so it’s no surprise my art is leading me into combining my love and passion for all three and have seen me working the past couple of years on African portraits and wildlife.
I also love teaching so that I can share the knowledge I’ve gained so far. I’ve held a workshop in Dubai, demoed for a local art society and the Kington Gallery along with private teaching one to one, but intend to increase this in the future. Belonging to two local art clubs keeps me busy with exhibitions which have included having paintings selected for exhibition in both Mayfair and for the 3rd year running, with the “Society for Women Artists” at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London, and have sold in both. My exhibiting has also included a solo exhibition at the Kington Gallery in Herefordshire."
